Temporary (ephemeral) storage
Temporary storage is fast/useful, but you should assume it can be lost. Temporary (ephemeral) storage may exist on some VM sizes. Good for cache, scratch, intermediate files. Not durable: data can be lost. Important data belongs on managed disks.
